Extra depth diabetic shoes with custom molded diabetic orthotics are frequently used to treat orthopedic foot deformities as well as pressure ulcerations on the bottom of the feet.  Medicare will cover one pair of diabetic shoes and three pair of diabetic orthotics per calender year for those diabetics that qualify.

Custom and prefabricated orthotics are frequently utilized for heel and arch pain, neuroma pain as well as other more complex foot deformities.  Orthotics allow the muscles, tendons and bones of the feet and lower legs to function at their highest potential. When appropriately prescribed, orthotics can decrease pain and increase stability in an unstable joint, along with preventing potential progression or development of a deformity. Improved quality of life often results from the application of the principles of orthotics.
